The band you are about to hear, ORYME, is a Progressive Rock Band for the nineties (and beyond). We are providing this package in response to your (unverbalized) request.

THE BAND

ORYME has evolved (and been reborn) over the last 47 years. We, Jon E. and Chuck M., were the founders and are now the sole members. Although we are now a two-piece , most people that hear our music (recorded OR live) believe that they are listening to a full band.

Chuck (Keyboards, Bass Guitar, Drum Programming) has to this day been a diehard Keith Emerson fan and has been playing Emerson since Infinite Space. His other favorite artist include: UK, Kansas, Jean-Luc Ponty, and King Crimson.

Jon (Guitars, Keyboards, Vocals) grew up imitating Steve Howe and Alex Lifeson, learning their styles while playing pieces such as Don't Kill the Whale, Mood for a Day, Freewill and Tom Sawyer. Among Jon's favorite artists: Yes, Genesis, Rush, Jethro Tull and Pink Floyd. 

The Drums have always been of equal importance to our music and we make them intricate yet powerful. Bill Bruford and Neil Peart have been major influences. 

THE MUSIC

Today's music scene has been less than appealing to our progressive ears. We find ourselves creating music to fill the void of artistic rock. Although there are glimpses of the old days, we feel there is just not enough happening with new groups to continue the evolution. With this in mind, our music tends to lie in the middle ground of progressive and commercial. This, we feel, will gain acceptance of our new music and will have the audience asking for more. We have more intricate, longer works that are still unrecorded, they are just waiting for the right moment (like now). The lyrics have been written with much forethought. We have a message, there is meaning to our music. Since we take pride in our lyrics, we also strive to let them be heard clearly. 

THE TECHNOLOGY

Enclosed you will find our equipment list. An immediate glance will reveal that we are on the cutting edge of music technology. We take pride in our knowledge of MIDI and its applications. This, in fact, is what allows us to produce our current music. 

THE FUTURE

We are ready. There is already an audience for our music. All we need is a chance to make it happen. We can work with you and bring back art to music.
